I love playing in my exersaucer... I could probably spend all day in it. Due to my great love of standing and jumping, I'm still not 100% with the sitting unassisted on a hard wood floor...but we're getting there. I'm not quite crawling, but almost... What I really love to do is have someone spot me while I'm standing (holding me under the arms for balance), and then walk... Mommy's not really excited about that, but Daddy thinks it's funny.

I really like eating - runs in the family i guess - so far peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and carrots are big hits. Squash not so much - it seems to be the culprit in a super diaper rash that I had, so we're waiting before trying it again. Mommy got those dissolving puff finger foods (sweet potato flavor) - and while I enjoy practicing my pincher grasp to pick them up, I am not so impressed with the flavor. Soon we'll foray into fruit - Mommy has almost reached inspiration for making my baby food... almost...

6 Months

Today I am 6 months old. Woohoo! Bring on the peas.

I was very good at my visit today - only cried for a few seconds when I got my shots, and then got over it.

And now for the stats...

weight - 17 lbs 10.5 oz - 82%
height - 27 inches - 90%
head - 67% (yep, I have a skidmore, not a carr, head)

So...all in all, i'm evening out - not quite the amazonian I was at my last appointment :)

Otherwise, I'm in good health, and tomorrow, we start with peas. Woohoo!

I spent most of Thanksgiving dinner sleeping, which was fine with Mommy because it meant she got to eat in peace :)

I got a new car seat! Woohoo! I'm riding in the lap of luxury now.

I seem to be fine - who knows what was wrong with me - reflux, a bug, too much drainage from my cold -

and just in case you were wondering, the only thing stinkier than formula is soy formula.

Problems of the tummy have necessitated the use of pedialyte today. Mommy and I are camping out downstairs tonight so Daddy can get lots of rest for his certification tests tomorrow. Willow's got a cold, but she's still helping Mommy out. We've watched a lot of TV today.

Mommy got this super cute hat for me, but of course it's blue, and so everyone thinks i'm a boy.

Mommy normally doesn't correct strangers out of politeness, unless they ask Willow about her "brother" - then Mommy will say something so that Willow doesn't get confused... (nicely of course)

5 Month Picture

Mommy set about trying to take my 5 month picture this afternoon - which will also serve for the Christmas card - but I was rather uncooperative. I didn't want to sit...only stand...except I can't really stand yet.





Then Mommy tried sitting under the blanket and holding me...that didn't work either...



Eventually, I kind of fell into a sitting position...I give you..

Morons!

Mommy and Daddy are up for moron of the year...

Last night, they were going to give me a bottle before my bedtime... Mommy started off feeding me first. I drank and drank and drank...for 15 minutes... wasn't fussy, but not much was happening. Then it was Daddy's turn to feed me while Mommy had alone time. Daddy fed me for 25 minutes...and then I fell asleep.

Mommy saw my bottle and that I only had about an ounce of it. She was very surprised.

About an hour later, I woke up crying because I was hungry. As Mommy was getting the bottle ready, she had the idea to try to drink from it to see what the problem was.

Behold! The nipple had no hole in it (or at best, a super tiny one)... (and how's that for a quote...but I digress)

So they put a different nipple on the bottle (they were some new ones they had gotten expressly for the purpose of having a faster flow nipple since I'm a big girl...which was why the whole experience was just that much more stupid).

I downed that bottle in about 5 minutes!

So like I said...my parents are morons (sometimes)...

But I still love them :)
