"Unbelievable"

Today I had my first post-hospital stay Dr. visit.

When we got into the hospital, there was much to-do from an older woman and a staff member over how cute Rose was in the sling - I think partly because Steve was the one carrying her. The older woman calls to her husband "Harry, get over here! You've got to see this!" Harry comes over and exclaims over Rose's cuteness, and says "at first I thought it was a pregnant woman, but then I looked closer and thought - that's a man!" Hahahaha. Mommy found this VERY amusing.

Here I am in the exam room with Mommy. I didn't have to have shots today, and for the most part I was brave. For the most part.



And now for the stats...

When I left the hospital, I was an even 8 lbs. Not even a full 2 weeks later, I am...(drumroll please)...9 lbs 6 oz. The dr. kept saying "unbelievable, unheard of" - to which Mommy made some reply about her milk being high calorie or something. I mean really, what do you say to that...

I grew 3/4 of an inch

I'm in the 80% for weight and length (or as Mommy likes to think, well proportioned).

My head is in the 76%. So far so good. Although Willow's head started out "normal" too... so we'll see about that.

I have to go back in 2 weeks for another well visit - but the good news is no shots until I'm 2 months old! Yay!

Bath Time

I had a bath tonight. It went much smoother than the last one. I didn't cry at all either - probably b/c I couldn't tell the difference btw the bath water and the general humid atmosphere.

I smell so much better now!

In other news, Mommy and Daddy have decided I'm no longer a willow-clone, and now look entirely like my own person.

Bath Time

I had my first bath at home tonight. It took both Mommy and Daddy making a mess in the living room to get me clean. You'd think they'd never done this before.

In their defense, I am small and squirmy.

I was not overly impressed with the whole getting wet thing, but it's nice to smell clean again :)

Mommy and I agreed that we didn't need pictures of this - at least until the umbilical cord comes off.

Mommy's finally around to dressing me like a girl :) Here I am modeling a couple of things. (granny made the crocheted outfit)

Looking Back

So I'm over one week old now - Wow! Here are some pics from the hospital that didn't get put up. This is why Mommy fretted over having 2 blogs - b/c when Willow and I are in the pic together, where does it go! Since I don't have as many posts yet, they'll get posted here. They are various shots of me and Willow meeting, with Granny, or with Daddy. (These pics are from my birthday)

Bonding

You'll notice Mommy's not putting up a lot of pictures of herself. Here's why. She was actually trying to have a pleasant demeanor in this picture. Oh well. At least I'm cute :)



Life is good so far - still mainly eating and sleeping. I do enjoy some wakeful times, and like looking around at the world.

I seem to have an insanely strong neck already, and have shimmied up Daddy's chest a few times while laying on him.

Hello World

Hi world- I'm here. I dont' have a lot of deep thoughts just yet. I spend most of time eating or sleeping... and that's pretty much it. I really enjoy eating and sleeping though, and am a champ at both.

So for now, here are some pics.

My 2nd day at home, sporting a stylish pink onesie. I'm so glad to be out of my hospital digs.



Taking a nap with/on Daddy. This is my preferred way of sleeping right now, although I do catch some zzz's in my co-sleeper too.



I have giant feet. Really. They are much longer than Mommy's were when she was born, and she has pretty big feet (as measured against Granny's thumb). I also have super long fingers and toes, for a baby.
